From Helping Others to Finding Her Calling
Denise Copeland had always found herself in conversations where people leaned on her for support. She felt there was something meaningful in the way she naturally guided others, but she couldn’t name it at first. Then she discovered coaching.
“I found myself helping people, and I knew that there was something there. I just didn’t know what it was, until I realized that it was coaching. I wanted to do it the right way.”
That desire for structure and tools led her to the Jay Shetty Certification School.
Why Jay’s Work Resonated
Denise had been deeply influenced by Jay Shetty’s podcasts, books, and videos long before she considered professional training. His words had already helped her, so when she learned about the certification school, the decision felt natural.
“I believed in Jay Shetty’s work. He helped me, so why not?”
A Community That Felt Close Across Borders
From the moment she joined, Denise felt part of a global community that exceeded her expectations.
“The community that they offer is excellent. I never experienced a community like that- people all around the world, so far, but yet so close.”
She recalls moments when she needed support, and multiple classmates reached out right away. The sense of belonging and mutual encouragement became one of her strongest takeaways.
Learning That Heals While It Trains
Denise entered the program to gain tools for helping others. What surprised her most was how much she helped herself first.
“Through the modules, I was learning things about myself, and I was able to heal. I discovered parts I had not gone into for my healing, and the transformation was amazing.”
As an emotional intelligence coach, she valued the lessons on emotions, understanding why we feel certain ways, tracing the roots of trauma, and learning to pause before reacting. It reshaped how she handled her own emotions and interactions with others.
The Power of Support
Denise credits not only the content but also the people behind the program. From instructors to fellow students to customer service, she found the support “amazing, professionally and personally.” The combination of guidance and encouragement created an environment where she could stretch, grow, and thrive.
Building Fearless Women
During and after the program, Denise wove coaching into her consulting work and launched Fearless Women, a nonprofit supporting and empowering women globally. She co-leads the initiative with eleven other Jay Shetty certified coaches.
“I wanted to create the same community and support that I experienced, and mimic that for other women. It doesn’t have to be in person or in the same country, it can be virtual. I know it can still be done in other platforms.”
Transformation That Lasts
For Denise, the shift was both professional and personal. Her sister noticed the change in how she expressed herself, took care of others, and handled challenges. Denise calls the experience not just transformative, but permanent.
“My experience cannot be taken away. It’s a forever experience, something that I will always carry and share.”
Advice for Those Considering the Program
When asked what she would say to someone on the fence, Denise doesn’t hesitate.
“For anybody thinking about joining, I would tell them to just go ahead and do it. Yes, you get a certification at the end, but you actually get so much more. The community is impactful, and the friendships last forever. It’s truly a life-changing experience.”
